Haven't been to the movies in a long minute...probably going to check out "WAY OF THE WARRIOR" this tuesday...I thought I'd post a movie I wanna see...ya'll already know I'm a MARVEL head...so here's the next addition..THOR!!!

Must SEE...

I realized I've been a huge movie buff this year...I think I've seen a movie atleast once a month in the theater...and at home since I have TMN & HBO I've seen a whole lot.....Right now since I'm downtown Toronto all the time due to school and Toronto International Festival is going on aka Tiff...I've been fortunate to run into a few celebs i.e. Ryan Reynolds, Keenau Reeves, Ryan Gosling etc. This years film festival has soooooo many films I want to see...and I'm going to make it a plan to get a ticket package for next years Tiff and take advantage of a interesting and creative event that goes on every year in my city...So in inspiration of Tiff I thought I'd post 3 movies I really want to see...the horror one is from Tiff but the others are just general movies......

For the most part Tyler Perry makes some cheesy ass films...but I think this one should be very moving and I like the fact that Whoopi, Felisha Rashard and Loretta Devine are in it....



Because True Blood is my favourite show right now...I'm a sucker for vampires...plus I am a horror movie lover lol so I'm really into seeing this movie stiiiiiil!



I know the past attempts at doing a Mortal Kombat movie pretty much failed...but this one right here look mad DOPE! I can't wait...whhhhhaaa Scorpion, Sub Zero, Sonya Blade and even effin Baraka.....I'm most definitely down!

4 ELEMENTS...

So I went to see "The Last Airbender" last night...(because INCEPTION was sold out) and I'm so glad I did...mainly because the visuals are way better in the theater.....But maaaan I knew about the AVATAR comics and the cartoon they had on the Airbender but I didn't know it went this deep.....OMG! I LOVED the Movie..........And even more I loved the fact that the Avatar was raised by Airbenders due to the fact that my Sun sign is Air....and I also learned that AIR is the first element and strongest...then comes Water, Earth and Fire.....but what sucked was that Fire who tried to rule everyone killed all the Air Benders (who were Monks by the way) because the AVATAR was going to be born into the Airbenders...........Maaaan am I proud to be in the element of AIR...I always knew we were some kind of special...I mean all the elements are.......But AIR booooooooooy we are so damn ill.......esp because we are the rulers of the mind....and ya'll already dun know that is important.......anyway sorry for giving away some of the ish...but it's not the story per say it's more the elements i'm talking about........they also had Moon & Water Spirits which was mad dope........I'm definitely buying the DVD to this movie when it comes out!

p.s. I am sooooooooo buying the entire collection of the comic books too!

SCARY thoughts...

This movie looks like it will be real dope! I remember watching the original predator when I was like 7 years old (don't ask me why my parents let me) but I was mad scared and I couldn't watch it when they showed Predator I would hide under the covers...lol My imagination ran wild filling my head with scary thoughts...Anyway this ones directed by Robert Rodiriguez who is amazing at what he does....and the cast looks pretty good as well.....Lawrence Fishbourne YES! I'm not sure if I'll peep it in the theater but I will definitely watch it either way....

I heart HORROR...

I'm a have to admit I have a thing for horror movies...even when I was a kid, like 6 years old...I remember I loved to watch scary movies...just to feel scared...I know ya'll are thinking WTF!?! I don't know...I like the thrill and the unknown...I guess!? I remember watching "The Exorcist" by myself cuz my sister chickened out...I was only 9 years old...crazy right..."Halloween" & "Nightmare on Elm Street" are Classics..and I am actually pleased with this trailer...

LYVE my movie partna we goin in on this movie when it hit the theater!!!

I remember the last M. Night Shamalan Movie I went to see in theater was "The Village"...which was the first movie I went to see where everyone was literally boooooing at the end of it...it was wack! But this one right here seems pretty decent...The trailer got my attention still...

LADY Sings The BLUES

So I was chillin with my daughter looking for a movie to watch on t.v. last night and I came across this movie called "LADY SINGS THE BLUES" (1972) based on the life of LEGENDARY JAZZ Singer BILLIE HOLIDAY played by Diana Ross........I never even knew this movie existed and I swear after watching it last night I felt really moved and I'm now about to purchase the movie online.......Maaan I never knew Billie Holiday had such a ruff life.....Im starting to realize that many of the Legends like Sammy Davis, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin had really profound lives (My mother in law reads alot of Bio books & tells me about them afterwards lol) Oh and did I mention Billie Dee Williams (who looked and acted incredibly sexy) plays Mckoy who is the love of Billie's life....with out giving too much away I must say She had a GOOD MAN!!!....and Richard Pryor (with out the moustache) played the "piano man" who is a close friend & discovered Billie...............



Another aspect to this movie that really really appealed to me was the Wardrobe....Man did they put some dope outfits on Diana Ross....I was drooling! I can truly appreciate style back then....I mean women wore classy stuff...didn't even show much knee.....covered but sexy and stylish! I LOVE IT!



While I was googling for pictures, I noticed that Beyonce in Cadillac records kept coming up.......I know Beyonce has been getting alot of negative press lately and people are finally seeing her for the Robot she is (I called her out from time btw) It reminded me of how good of an actor DIANA ROSS was in this movie....daaang she did a marvelous job! She doesn't even look like Billie but she ran with it and might I add it's not easy playing a Heroin Addict espacially during the time the movie was shot but she was on point! Beyonce take some notes please!



So if ya'll get a chance go cop it, rent it, bootleg it...I saw it on Movie Pix...so if you got that channel maybe they'll play it again or put it on there on demand movies........

p.s. Reminded me that I have my Billie Holiday Cd thats collecting dust! lol

True, I probably wouldn't have watched the series back in the day if it wasn't for my Pops...who watched it on a daily and kept telling me it's better than I think...and as I grew older & started to Open my Eye & understand the hidden messages of Hollywood's creations, I started to Overstand what my Pops was talking about.....

Your gonna have to get used to a new cast...espacially "Harold" from the Harold & Kumar Stoner Movies....playing "Sulu"...which is sort of weird...hopefully he pulls it off.....but the trailer seems decent.....I'd watch it same way!!!
