WAS a Skeptic...

Last year there was big talks about opening up a Africentric Alternative School for black students due to the stats showing that the most drop outs come from students of African descent...African including carribean....I wasn't that into the idea, considering the fact that it seems as though they maybe trying to create more segregation.....I also thought it was going to be led by a bunch of white exces who do not know anything about what a African child needs in order to have a good education and knowledge of self.......BUT

upon looking at a brief open house...and reading up on it...seeing pictutures etc. I am convinced that it maybe a good idea......I mean this is what we needed from along time ago...our children have been fed the "White Ideal" for so long....we all have.....so why not have a school where red, green and gold are the school colours......and images of people who look like you are displayed on the walls....and history is actually your own history! I am really excited and I plan on visiting this school sometime in the near future!

My hope now is that it is as successful as it looks...and that this will not be the only school like this that opens in the Greater Toronto Area......and around the world.....May the Most High manifest it's beautiful energy and create more wonderful educational institutions as this one!

DO THE MATH...

As I grow I find myself getting farther and farther away from this world...I sincerely believe I am not from this earth...Eso Tariq is the way I feel for real, for real........

One reason I say this is because I find that more and more females are moving slack...I understand that the media is way more graphic and protrays sex as something you do, like brushing your teeth....come ya'll you have a stronger mind than to let that rule you...and if you are honest with yourself...you know this is true!

For the most part I've always been a relationship girl...I mean I've fallen once or twice into the "meaningless sex" when I was a teenager but the key to my mistake is that I've learned from it....as for most of my friends and other people I know it seems as though from when they feel horny, lonely or I hate to say desperate they go ahead and give it up..........

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOUR BODY BEING YOUR TEMPLE?
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO LOVING YOURSELF?

I say do the math ladies & fellaz too....look around you and analyze the people who are in relationships most of the time.....or is able to get a man to commit....
What do you see about them that maybe your don't hold within yourself?
I look around and see my friends who are able to hold down a man usually have self respect...carry themselves in a respectful manner (doesn't dress slack), is spiritually aware, and holds off on having sex until they are ready....

Another thing I don't understand is....when females down play the man or says "I don't like him" but then goes ahead and messes around with them....three words WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

It's still summer time but the stores are putting out there fall stuff....and since I haven't done a style post in a long minute here it goes.....btw these are things that I LOVE...nothing to do with trends or fashion....just my must cop list...........


My choices may lack colour...but it's due to my taste changing...I can't be rocking neons and bright colours all the time...I'm 26 now...and really I didn't put too much thought it to it...I just realized the things I like now a days are more of the soft...earth tones..creames etc.

Apologize for not having consistant blog posts.......I realize i'm also late on the M.J. post....But ya'll don't even know how hard his death has been on me...mind you June 25th was my last day with the kids I had been working with...I lost my cell phone that day....came home and things just went completely down hill when I turned on the t.v. and heard about his death (mind u when peeps kept texting me...I didn't take it in)

Upon thinking about what I could post in order to honor one of the greatest to every do it....I sat there listening to K-OS' Album "JOYFUL REBELLION"....I rotate that album heavy not only because it's a classic but also because every time I listen
to it I gain a new perspective.....

I really think Michael would have felt this song....espacially the lyrics....
I remember when I was real young my dad had this music room and on the walls were all these posters of artists at the age of 4 I had no idea how great they were....The poster of M.J. really stood out and I can still see it clearly in my mind.....My pops didn't read books to me and my siblings...he read us song lyrics....and ofcourse he used some of M.J.'s songs......

The local radio station played a tribute the next morning after his death....as I was getting my daughter ready for daycare....I just froze for a moment listening to the tribute....I think that was the moment where it really sunk in........I hadn't shed a tear for a artist since Aaliyah...As much as ppl tried to bring him down....can't ya'll see what he shared with us is TIMELESS.....Not only is where you go after you leave this Earth, important....so is the lives you touched and the reaction of death.........M.J's fans are living proof of how GREAT he is....

Give thanks for all the uplifting moments you have given this world through your Genius mind....
